Sell on the Internet and Get Rich Quick
|
My current least favorite commercial is the one which breathlessly offers you the chance to make your millions from the Internet by selling stuff online. You don't have to have any inventory and you'll make money while you're in bed asleep.
Right. Free money.
Ozdachs Consulting earns a few hundred dollars a year in referral fees. So, if you're going to buy anything at Amazon.com for Christmas, please start your web browsing at Ozdachs.biz, click on the Amazon link, and let me earn pennies on your purchase!
But, before you spend money to set up your money-making website, check out the facts. In this recession, the sharks are ready to prey on desperate people.

| Your Business and Web 2.0 |
If you spend any time at all online you can't have missed a whole set of new technologies that make up what is being referred to as 'Web 2.0' - wikis, blogs, rss feeds, podcasts. More and more, these are helping businesses succeed. Want to know if these tools can improve your
business' profitability?

Ozdachs Online 2.0
|
In the past months I have been LinkedIn and started posting on Facebook (where you have to be a member to see profiles and you have to be a "friend" to read the detailed information). I have posted links to TV interviews, reviews, and day-to-day actions in my modestly named "Dangerous Common Sense" blog.
Casting the social network web on the waters has caught attention: my freshman year college roommate and co-workers from past jobs have re-established contact.
Web design and Internet Marketing service is personal. You buy my philosophy and experience. Most of my clients come from recommendations of other clients and friends.
Venturing into social networks and online communities is a natural way to express my personality and abilities. My postings are fun to publish, and their creation legitimately comes out of my marketing time budget.
How about your business? Are you selling yourself? Probably.
How about your Online 2.0 personality?

Archiving the Work of an Artist
|
Bay Area sculptor Roger Anderson is celebrating over thirty years of
casting bronzes.
He recently asked me to help him update and expand the galleries of his work.
What fun!
The excellent photographs of David Wilson show the artwork wonderfully. After dealing with Google's inscrutable ranking algorithms and waiting on hold for some non-helpful customer service rep, switching mindsets to work with Roger's art is just a joy.
The pictured work, a 1983 bronze of Bucephalus, is the most popular piece, Roger says. I like Ozymandias myself.

| Protect Against 7 IT Hazards |
Information Technology (IT) has become so
integrated into business processes that the
loss of hardware, software, or data can cost
a lot of money to fix and even raise serious
continuity issues.
IT means more than your website. For many people, it's the backbone of their whole business!
Take a check around your business to make
sure that you're protected against these
common disasters.
