Ozdachs on Jury Duty through February, 2010?
I am summoned to court this morning where 30 of us in a jury pool will be whittled down to 19 jurors.  Those selected will be going to court Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of February.

(I'll post an update on Twitter when I know if I'll have a court-ordered schedule change. The Twitter information also shows up on the right side of the Ozdachs Business blog.)

If I'm a juror, I will respond to your Tuesday/Thursday emails and calls after court hours.

How Newsletters Build Client Loyalty
Man reading an electronic newsletter Want a low-cost, low-risk way to put your name in front of your prospects? To remind existing clients that you're ready to serve them?

All Business, a Dun and Bradstreet company, shares the secrets of creating a successful electronic newsletter in a podcast that covers content, focus, and the most common mistakes to avoid.

Do I trust the information in the podcast?  Yes!  Reporter Chris Bjorklund interviewed me as the newsletter expert for the podcast -- in the podcast I am identified as the marketing director for Ozdachs' client Sterck Kulik O'Neill.

Care for Your Elders
Elder Law and estate planning in Marin, CAThe attorneys at the Law Firm of Julia P. Wald are compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective.  They help families plan, and they help when a family needs to step in and protect an older relative.  They provide a full range of elder law services.

Their web site had an elegant design, including art work created by Julia.  However, the web site wasn't drawing many potential customers.

Ozdachs recently tuned the web pages to show up in Google and other search engines when people are looking for help with estate planning, conservatorships, probates & trusts, and other elder law legal issues.

In addition, we created profiles on social sites such as Yelp, and we submitted site maps and directory listings to help Google and other search engines understand the value of the information on the site.

Check out a great looking, information-filled web site, and contact Julia for help with your estate planning and other elder law needs.
The Flu and You
Take an unscientific -- but fun -- survey on the flu We've all been told what we're supposed to do to prepare for the flu. But, are we going to do what we're told?

Are you?

Take an one-page informal survey sponsored by curious accountants and business development specialists.

I'll share your anonymous, real-world answers in the next newsletter.

We all went want to know what people like you (and us!) are really going to do about the flu.

How to Use Smoke and Mirrors to Grow Your Business
How to Use Smoke and Mirrors to Grow Your Business Often a deal can be won or lost because of how big people think your company is. For many customers size tells them how professional and solid a business is.

Conjuring up the impression that your business is bigger than it really is is an important trick to master.

Looking bigger can be inexpensive and painless. It can be as simple as avoiding certain techniques that unnecessarily tag your business as unprofessional or small.

Read the tips in the article below, and use them to kick-start start your business development strategy. And, contact Ozdachs for our help with those tips that use email and the Internet to help your company look huge!

10 Solutions in Search of a Problem
Social Networking logos Have you ever have felt overwhelmed by the latest whiz-bang new tech trend? Wondered if you were terminally behind the times because you didn't see the value in some new electronic trick? Asked, "Why would I want that?"

Before you spend your money to keep up with the electronic Joneses, have your instinctive doubts confirmed by technology analysts who say, "Just a minute!"

Here are 10 must-have, must-do things that actually may be answers to questions no one is asking.

The FDIC Isn't Emailing You
FDIC Logo Have you received an email from the FDIC telling you that they've closed your bank? They want you to click on a link to register so they can send your money back?

Or, have you received email from Facebook or Charles Schwab or your bank bragging about their new online features? Their message invites you to click on a link to see the new web wonders in action.

Stop! Those links are fraudulent! Crooks want you to click and then type in your user name, passwords, and account numbers on their mocked-up web pages. They're phishing for suckers to rip off.

We've gotten a lot more of these phony messages in the past couple weeks, so be careful! Make sure you, your family, and your administrative staff don't get hooked by these new attacks.
